Heading south from Auckland,” the city of sails” catch a glimpse of the sacred burial grounds of Taupiri Mountain in Ngaruawahia. Ngaruawahia is home to the Turangawaewae Marae and the reigning Maori King, Tuheitia Paki. Enroute to Raglan take in the Waingaro Hot Springs.

The Manu Bay at Raglan is a stop on the international pro-surfing circuit and Raglan gives you a curious blend of artists’ studios, design stores, and bevy of awesome eateries to check out. The hot spots for you to visit during this leg of the trip would be Lakes Waikare, Whangape, Rotongaro and Waahi.

At Kawhia experience legendary fish and chips at the Kawhia Fish Shop on the Kawhia wharf and the Kawhia Museum is full of local treasures. On the road to Waitomo Caves check out the Marokopa Falls – a plunging 30-metre drop down a cliff face to the valley below. Waitomo Caves is a sight with glow worms at night and be sure to go black water rafting and abseiling in this area.

The Otorohanga Kiwi House is a great way to see the national bird. Pass through Te Kuiti, the self-proclaimed Shearing Capital of the World. From here the road to New Plymouth traces the outside curve of New Zealand’s west coast, a three hour cruise through native forest, mountain scenery and spectacular ocean views. Do explore Egmont National Park before reaching New Plymouth.
This trip is best covered in three days and provides plenty of scope for camping and outdoor activities. Hire a car from Thrifty, Budget, Avis, Car Rentals and Hertz if you do not have your own car to get around.

If you are looking for peace of mind then make sure you have in place to protect you in case you are made redundant. Search for the right company for you today.
